Former GMIT president made protected disclosures

Former Galway Mayo Institute of Technology president Fergal Barry availed of Protected Disclosures legislation to raise issues he deemed of concern over a year before he departed, The Sunday Business Post has learned.

A deliberative process related to his disclosures is believed to be ongoing, but when contacted, GMIT’s spokeswoman said it was policy not to comment on staff matters. Barry was not contactable.
