'Forget wired broadband – rural Ireland needs 5G'

Cignal supremo Colin Cunningham has said a short-term solution to the problem besetting the rolling out of fibre to every home in the country would not result in an inadequate services

The government should consider wireless and 5G technology as a potential alternative to the stalled National Broadband Plan, according to the chief executive of the company that owns more than a fifth of the country’s mobile phone towers.
