Irish and British airlines have grounded all flights in and out of the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-sheikh.

The moves comes as evidence now suggests that a bomb planted by Islamic State is the likely cause of last weekend's crash of a Russian airliner over Egypt's Sinai peninsula.

Meanwhile thousands were stranded in Egypt following the British government's declaration that an explosive device “may well” have brought down the aircraft.
