Under-fire KWETB finds €1.1m more in non-compliant spending

Internal audit documents for the under-fire Kildare Wicklow ETB (KWETB) show that in 2018 it spent at least €1.1 million on public procurement contracts that it found were non-compliant.

A Dáil committee heard the organisation – which runs the former vocational school network in Kildare and Wicklow – is cooperating with a Garda investigation into “serious lapses” in how it spent taxpayers’ money under the stewardship of former chief executive Seán Ashe.
