Finance minister says INMO’s recruitment gripes unfounded

Writing in today’s newspaper, he says that nurses starting out in their careers are paid significantly more than the average starting salary for graduates across the labour market as a whole.

Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe has dismissed claims that the health service is struggling to recruit nurses, saying the overall number of nurses has increased by around 11 per cent from 2014 to 2018.
