Filling stations say higher valuations will ruin them
Filling stations are complaining that they could be put out of business by rises in valuations on their properties.
Around 322 filling stations in ten counties have been assessed as part of the national revaluation programme. Around 64 are currently appealing their valuations to the Valuation Tribunal.
The Irish Petrol Retailers Association, which represents around 1,000 stations, said filling stations with shops attached were having to pay much higher rates than standalone shops.
