FF demands changed to rural CCTV scheme
€1 million scheme set up to deter and detect mobile burglary gangs
Fianna Fáil is demanding changes to the 'bureaucratic' CCTV scheme which has only been taken up by four communities around the country.
It was set up last year with an annual budget of €1 million to deter and detect mobile burglary gangs in rural areas in particular. This was in response to Fianna Fáil's request in the confidence and supply agreement to 'invest in CCTV'.
But so far, just four grants have been given...
