Taoiseach spoke at launch of the government’s first climate action progress report

Climate change has “benefits” for Ireland including lower heating bills and fewer deaths due to cold weather, Leo Varadkar has said.

The Taoiseach made the observation at the launch of the government’s first progress report on its Climate Action Plan on Thursday, which found that the state had achieved 85 per cent of its objectives in the second and third quarter of this year.
