The government has sought to speed up the passage of the Public Sector Standards Bill, which was drafted in response to the Mahon Tribunal recommendations

The husbands, wives and children of public representatives will have to declare their interests to a powerful standards commissioner as part of a long-overdue overhaul of ethics legislation.
