Facebook hiring senior Dublin staff to manage digital currency

Central Bank has been briefed on tech giant’s plans, but project is already facing considerable scrutiny from numerous regulators

Facebook is hiring a Dublin team as part of its controversial project to build a digital currency, and has briefed the Central Bank on its plans.

The social media giant is recruiting senior staff for the Calibra project in Dublin, including a head of fraud, head of compliance and accounting manager. The head of compliance will “design, set up and manage day-to-day management of global compliance operations”.
