Facebook has agreed to identify people posting allegedly defamatory material on its site as part of proceedings brought by one of Sean Quinn's former companies.

Quinn Industrial Holdings Ltd wants orders directing the social media giant to remove material put up by “Concerned Irish Citizens” – a pro-Quinn lobby group – on its Facebook page.

In the High Court today, barrister Rossa Fanning said Facebook should not be drawn into the crossfire ofa much wider dispute. He said QIHL “know very well” who is posting the information.
