Extension of lower tourism and hospitality Vat rate welcomed by stakeholders

The government’s decision to extend the lower rate of Vat in the tourism and hospitality sectors until September has been welcomed by some of the main stakeholders in the industry.

The temporary reduction in Vat of 9 per cent from 13.5 per cent will be extended to August 31 at an estimated cost of €300 million, according to a statement from the government.
