The business dealings of bankrupt former Fianna Fáil councillor Ger Killally are at the heart of a “contentious and complicated” legal action between two law firms and insurance group Royal and Sun Alliance (RSA).

In 2012, investors secured a €9.7 million judgment against Killally, the onetime running mate of former taoiseach Brian Cowen over a controversial land deal in Co Offaly.
