Some countries want measures to ensure tech giants pay fair share of tax

EU finance ministers have asked the European Commission to come up with proposals aimed at ensuring digital giants such asFacebook, Google and Amazon pay their fair share of tax.

Though finance ministers called for global action to ensure a level playing field, they also asked the commission to consider temporary measures such as a so-called ‘equalisation levy’ when it brings forward its plans early next year.
