The ESB has severed its ties with the credit rating agency Fitch, which will no longer rate the semi-state company’s debt.

Last week Fitch said it published its final report on the ESB and its Northern Ireland business NIE Networks, adding that it had withdrawn its ratings for “commercial reasons”.
