Energia parent takes case over power levy

The parent company of electricity supplier Energia is taking its fight to the courts over what it sees as a serious anti-competitive state levy, which it says impacts on its business and leads to a rise in bills for customers.

Viridian, which owns Energia, lodged High Court proceedings on Tuesday against Ireland, the Attorney General and the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, Denis Naughten.
