Eir will stick with Huawei despite owner’s Nokia 5G deal

Eir will continue to use Huawei technology in its mobile networks despite the Irish telco’s joint owner Iliad signing a 5G infrastructure deal with Nokia in recent weeks.

Xavier Niel, the French telecoms entrepreneur, gained control over Eir last year in a complicated deal involving Iliad, his listed company, and NJJ Capital, his private holding company.
