Eir owners enjoy another big payday with fresh €300m dividend

More than €1 billion in distributions have been made in the past four years, with further payouts expected

Some €1.23 billion has been returned to Eir shareholders since Xavier Niel, the French billionaire, took control of the company in late 2017.

The distributions mean that, in just over four years, the consortium that owns the telco has made its initial investment back with interest, while still owning over 60 per cent of the business.
