Telecommunications company Eir has agreed to pay €35,000 in donations to charities after violating telemarketing offences.

The donations arise out of fines for violations of European electronic communications regulations.

Earlier this week, the company pleaded guilty to six charges of making unsolicited marketing phone calls one charge of sending a marketing SMS without an opt out message to a customer.
