€100m surgical hub plan to take scalpel to waiting lists

Five new surgical hubs will be built under a €100 million plan to cut waiting lists to be brought to cabinet by Stephen Donnelly, the Minister for Health.

The planned hubs will be exclusively for day surgery rather than emergency work, and will follow the model of the recently opened surgical hub in Tallaght Hospital in west Dublin.
