Dublin businesses warn of ‘difficulties’ posed by removing cars from College Green

The first phase of traffic reduction plans in the area will come into effect on May 29

Plans under the government’s Pathfinder project will see College Green bus corridor hours extended to a 7-day, 24 hour bus corridor, prioritising public transport at all times

Businesses in Dublin city centre have warned that they must be consulted properly on plans to remove cars from College Green to “avoid a repeat of difficulties experienced in other parts of the city”.

The Business Post first revealed last year that private car traffic lanes would be phased out from College Green. This week Dublin City Council published plans for the first phase of that project, which will come into effect later this month.
