Former Black Tie owner Farrell used losses against tax burden

Niall O’Farrell, the former Dragons’ Den panellist and owner of the now defunct Black Tie chain of formal wear shops, has won a Revenue case over a €7.6 million property deal on Dublin’s Shrewsbury Road.

During the boom years, the 53-year-old built up a substantial property portfolio pulling in around €1 million per annum in rental income.
