DPC’s probe into INM set to conclude within months

The Data Protection Commissioner’s investigation into Independent News & Media is set to conclude within months, as it has expanded since it first began a year ago.

Helen Dixon said she had been given an update by the investigator two weeks ago that it was “substantially advanced to the point of near completion”.

The probe initially centred on the so-called INM 19, who were subject to an alleged data breach in 2014.
