Donnelly confirms €71m in HSE budget was ‘not able to be validated’

Some €71 million recorded as spent by the HSE in 2020 was “not able to be validated”, resulting in a prior year adjustment to the health executive’s financial statements, according to Stephen Donnelly, the Minister for Health.

The Business Post first revealed the prospect of the HSE needing to alter its past accounts as part of the health tapes investigation which was based on secret recordings by an official in the Department of Health.
