Diageo is to invest 153m euro in its flagship St Jamess Gate Guinness facility in Dublin, in a move that appears to shelve indefinitely the drinks giants plans for a super brewery in Ireland. Diageo said the investment would create 300 construction jobs on the 55 acre site with a new brewhouse to be built. Building work, which will also see the construction of a new grain building and associated silos, will begin in the first half of this year, subject to planning permission.
