A trust connected with the billionaire financier Dermot Desmond has acquired the Dublin 4 mansion known as Walford, which was once the most expensive house in Ireland.

The house on Shrewsbury Road was previously bought for €58 million by a trust called Matsack whose beneficiary was later revealed to be Gayle Killilea-Dunne, the wife of the bankrupt developer Sean Dunne.
