DCC has published its results for the year to the end of March, reporting that all divisions recorded strong profit growth as total operating profit rose by 21 per cent to £363.6 million. Here are the key points in the results:

- Revenue increased by 17.4 per cent tot £12.27 billion as DCC said it expected the year ending 31 March 2018 to be "another year of profit growth and development"

- "The results reflectthe continued successful execution of our strategy in significantly growing our operating profits, converting those profits into cash and re-deploying capital into our energy, healthcare and technology businesses," said chief executive Tommy Breen, who last month announced plans to retire in July when he will be replaced by the company's head of energy Donal Murphy
