When Minister for Transport Shane Ross was caught out last week pretending to use an electric car charging point that had yet to be switched on, he inadvertently highlighted one of the many barriers to mass market adoption of pure electric vehicles (EVs) in Ireland.
From limited charging infrastructure, to high prices, to anxieties over range and battery life depreciation, there are still several obstacles to the wide adoption of EVs.
