Up to 140,000 Covid-19 tests could be sold at Ireland’s biggest airports next year by private providers as part of a multimillion-euro regime which will be introduced in case of a surge in infections due to a new variant of the virus.

DAA, the operator of the Dublin and Cork airports, is seeking a new private test provider from February 2022 in a contract worth up to €9 million, documents show.
