Cost of medical claims against state trebles

The State Claims Agency's annual report shows that its payout costs ran far ahead of the rise in cases in 2018

The amount of money paid out by the State Claims Agency (SCA) to settle major clinical negligence claims almost trebled last year, even though the number of cases it dealt with barely doubled.
