Nomination of two executives of builder with several projects in county could create conflict of interest, warn councillors

Councillors in Kildare have raised concerns over a possible conflict of interest over the nomination of executives from a construction company with extensive interests in the county to key housing and planning policy committees.

David Caffrey, Glenveagh Properties’ director of planning, has been nominated to the county’s economic development, enterprise and planning committee. Wesley Rothwell, Glenveagh’s chief commercial officer, has been nominated to the housing committee.
