Competition extends probe into Irish Pride aquisition

The competition regulator has extended its investigation into the sale of Irish Pride Bakeries to rival busin ess Pat the Baker.

In August, Longford-based Pat the Baker agreed to buy Irish Pride in a deal worth about €7 million.

The deal is before the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission for approval and it has extended its phase one investigation into the transaction.
