The Commercial Court has thrown out proceedings to enforce an Albanian judgment for €433 million against Italy’s largest power company, ENEL, on the basis that the dispute has no connection to Ireland.

Albaniabeg, an Albanian spin off company of Italian renewable energy firm BEG, has shipped the 2009 judgment from Tirana District Court around several other jurisdictions, namely New York, the Netherlands, France and Luxembourg.
