Clonskeagh residents oppose site for Travellers

The objections come just weeks after a devastating fire wiped out ten members of the Travelling community in Carrickmines

The site near Glenamuck Road in Carrickmines was the previous site that was proposed for the rehousing

Planned Traveller accommodation in the south Dublin suburb of Clonskeagh has triggered objections from residents.

The development is being built by the Durkan family-owned Devondale on a site owned by Nama.

Locals in the area fired in dozens of appeal documents while the development was being considered by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council (DLRCC). The site is around one kilometre from UCD’s Belfield campus, and two kilometres from Dundrum shopping centre.
