The shareholders of the Galway Clinic are locked in a new legal war over plans for a €17 million extension to the hospital.

In Commercial Court proceedings, founding surgeon Joseph Sheehan claims fellow stakeholder Larry Goodman is using “power play” to try to take complete ownership of the business.

Goodman is the biggest player in Ireland’s private healthcare market, with shares in the Galway Clinic, the Blackrock Clinic and the Hermitage Clinic.
