Huawei is running a recruitment drive in Ireland for technicians as it expands its operations amid controversy over its links to the Chinese government.

US officials warned last week that countries which allowed the technology giant to build their 5G network risked losing access to American intelligence.

The Trump administration has been putting pressure on international allies to freeze out Huawei over concerns that it presented an “unacceptable risk” to cybersecurity.
