The European Commission has unveiledits latest proposals on corporate tax, including the Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base (CCCTB).

Previous CCCTB plans, tabled in 2011, failed to get off the ground, partly due to opposition from Britain and Ireland. After Brexit and the controversy over the Commission's Apple tax ruling, some fear Ireland's negotiating position will be weaker if it wants to oppose elements of the package.

Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs Pierre Moscovici said today that the "rebooted" proposal had addressed the concerns of businesses and citizens, and that the new proposals had bolstered the pro-business elements of the previous proposal.
