Any efforts to ensure sex education is delivered without the influence of a school’s religious ethos will be resisted by Catholic groups, who are warning such a move could be unconstitutional.
The Catholic Primary Schools Management Association (CPSMA) which supports the boards of management of 3,000 primary schools, said it welcomed Minister for Education Richard Bruton’s announcement of a “major review” of the Relationship and Sexuality Education (RSE) curriculum.
