The Department of Media has said it is of “utmost importance” that RTÉ concentrates on restoring public trust in its work and urged the broadcaster to comply fully with ongoing reviews into its affairs.
The comments from Media Minister Catherine Martin’s department came after Kevin Bakhurst, the director general at RTÉ, told staff at the broadcaster on Thursday evening that there were “no plans” for Tubridy’s return to RTÉ Radio One at this time.
