An expert report has called for the government to establish a cross-disciplinary Commission of Inquiry into the concentration of media ownership in Ireland.

The report concludes that “there are extremely grave concerns about the high concentration of media ownership in the Irish market, and in particular regarding the position of Independent News & Media and Mr Denis O’Brien”.
