Callinan and Taylor left with nowhere to hide
Peter Charleton’s latest report at the Disclosures Tribunal amounts to a devastating indictment of the former Garda Commissioner and his press officer
The latest report of the Disclosures Tribunal is a bruising takedown of former Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan, his press officer Superintendent David Taylor and their “cheek-by-jowl” character assassination of whistleblower Sergeant Maurice McCabe.
Seasoned tribunal-watchers will have largely predicted the thrust of the report’s main findings, but perhaps not the virulence with which they have been delivered by inquiry chairman Mr Justice Peter Charleton, who set out to establish “where the truth lies”.
