A Fianna Fáil frontbencher has called for a special pay allowance for nurses and teachers in Dublin and other cities to help them cope with the high cost of living.

Dublin West TD Jack Chambers, who was appointed as the party’s defence spokesman last week, is seeking a move away from the ‘one size fits all’ public pay policy.
