Businesses in EWSS may face PRSI hike

The government has warned businesses availing of the employment wage subsidy scheme that they may have to make a greater contribution to wages later this year.

The Business Post understands the change due in the fourth quarter of this year will be to the PRSI element of the EWSS, where a reduced rate of 0.5 per cent has been charged on wages which are eligible for the subsidy payment since the scheme was introduced.
