Broadband rollout target slashed as contractor admits delays

Tens of thousands of households and businesses which were due to get high-speed broadband this year will miss out, as the National Broadband Plan is falling far short of its targets despite recent assurances the rollout was on schedule.

Just 4,000 homes and businesses have been reached in the first half of this year, out of a target of 115,000 by the end of the year.
