‘Bright prospects’ as Shannon Airport passenger numbers up 300 per cent

A further boost is expected from May this year when a new daily non-stop seasonal service to Chicago commences

Passenger numbers at Shannon Airport increased by 300 per cent last year compared to 2021, as the travel sector recovered from Covid-19 restrictions.

The group welcomed over 1.51 million passengers to the airport in 2022, an 88 per cent recovery on 2019 passenger levels, according to a statement from the airport operator.
