New research from the Central Bank shows that Irish agriculture has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years after a 20-year period of stagnation between 1990 and 2010.

But the paper, which is being published ahead of the start of the National Ploughing Championships in County Offaly, also highlights the challenges posed to the sector by Brexit, changes in the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and climate change.
