Fund to be loaned out to firms that experience cash difficulties in the event of a hard Brexit

Minister for Business Heather Humphreys has announced that the Brexit emergency rescue fund for businesses is being increased from €20 million to €200 million.

In an interview with The Sunday Business Post, she confirmed that she had secured state aid approval for the extra funds from the European Commission.

She said the money would be loaned out to viable businesses that experienced cashflow difficulties in the event of a hard Brexit on March 29.
