Brexit among main issues at ambassadors' conference
Irish diplomats will also discuss trade, passport reform and Rugby World Cup bid
Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Charlie Flanagan is today hosting a conference for Irish ambassadors and consuls general from more than 80 locations across the world in Dublin Castle.
In a statement, the minister said he had called the meeting to discuss a number of critical challenges facing Ireland, including the response tothe outcome of the Brexit referendum. He said Brexit would involve "the most important set of multilateral and bilateral negotiations in a generation". Flanagan said the meeting would also discussnew strategies for the Asia-Pacific and Americas regions.
