Up to 60 prison officers late for court in "wildcat" action

Around 60 prisoners were delayed getting to court in Dublin today due to unofficial action by prison officers protesting over rostering arrangements.

It is understood fifteen drivers in the Prison Service Escort Corps - which transports prisoners to and from court - reported for duty this morning without driving licences in a row about overtime and the introduction of a new system of working hours next month.
