Thirty years ago, Dessie O’Hare, known as the Border Fox, kidnapped a 38-year-old dentist named John O’Grady. The most wanted man in Ireland was subsequently on the run for 40 days. Shoot-outs in Dublin, Cork, Tipperary and Kilkenny ensued. The country was gripped with fear of what the Irish National Liberation Army commander with a vicious reputation might do next.
